The
village site at the corner of Highway 68 and Corral de Tierra is
flat and backed by a hillside. The final village site plan
works in several ways to ensure that the new buildings fit the
rural setting and community character while protecting the
scenic corridor.
The Village
Design
The village
design is the antithesis of a strip mall. There are a number of low
rise buildings tied together with open air plazas and pedestrian
paths. The building design, colors and materials mirror local
historical agricultural buildings.
Below are some
building elevations without landscaping. These are provided to
offer a sense of what the buildings will look like once you’re
onsite.

Protecting
Scenic Views
All new
village buildings will be at least 100 feet away from frontage
roads. There will be tall, deep and wide berms along the frontage
roads that will be heavily planted with fast-growing,
drought-tolerant trees, shrubs and plants. The berms will become
“green screens” that shield views of the village to drivers passing
by on Highway 68 and Corral de Tierra. The offsite views of the
buildings will be further obscured by another layer of landscaping
within the 12 parking islands. Below are renderings of offsite
views of the village — before and after construction.
